FOLLOWING THE TREND: OVERSIZED COAT

Hello everyone. I know I have been MIA for past few months because I have been very busy with my entrance exams and plus I had some rough days. But I am so ready to start writing again because this is something I really enjoy. For those who were constantly asking for the blog update; first of all ILY and second of all here you go. I hope you enjoy reading and it might help you to ace in your fashion game.

Lets be honest, during this freezing weather we don’t bother to look all stylish because our #1 priority will always be how are we going to stay warm throughout the day. It can be tempting to throw style out the window and simply grab the warmest sweater from your wardrobe. You know it. The one that’s comfortable and warm but leaves you looking like a marshmallow. I don’t go out often but when I do I make sure that I am somewhat presentable, comfortable and stylish. Trust me, if you go out with an outfit you really feel good in, you are gonna be so much more confident and poised.

So this winter when I checked Pinterest the most trendy outfits were oversized and I agree oversized shapes can be tricky and a bit intimidating at first but you can definitely master the latest trends in coats like a pro. I usually wear body hugging clothes that compliments my silhouette and not prefer oversized outfits because I felt that I would look like a cloth hanging on a hanger, but I wanted an oversized coat in my wardrobe. I bought this check long/ overcoat from Spinx (Labim Mall). They have this very cool buy one get one free offer or 45% off any purchase. [#notsponsored] I decided to buy the check one because it’s easier to pair with other pieces of clothing and on top of that it’s black so it is definitely a win-win situation.

Coat & Turtle neck: Spinx
Pants: Korean Shop
Boots: H&M

Beneath the coat I wore a blush colored turtle neck which is again from Spinx. I paired it with a light washed jeans from Korean shop. The trick is; if you wear something baggy on the top make sure you wear something fitting for the bottoms. This way you can maintain the style equilibrium. But you can also wear it with flare pants(Probably my next blog outfit?🤫). Then I wore my H&M black boots to compliment this ensemble. I preferred heels because I needed that elongated look if I am going to wear something long.  The whole fit was comfortable, chic, classy and the coat kept me warm and toasty throughout the day. I carried a simple bag to complete my look.

Whether it’s black, grey, red, caramel, a long coat is such a staple piece to invest on, because a good quality one would last you for years and years to come. And you can wear them over your dresses, jumpers and look stunning. You’ll be surprised at how easy it is to pull it together. You can always experiment in your shoes department. It would look great with some platform heels too but it was not so convenient for me to wear it for the place i was supposed to go.

I think I did a pretty descent job to look put together and being comfortable. So comfort has legitimately reached into maximum levels. Look cute and classy in your oversized coats and stay warm this winter ❄️.Thankyou so much for reading. I’ll be posting very soon because the season of parties is around the corner...till then feel the joy of dressing.

GINGHAM DRESS

You have certainly seen it- in tablecloths, children’s aprons, uniform, shirts...It is simple yet eyecatching and definitely a wardrobe essential for spring, summer or active clothing. From the beginning it has made numerous successful and adorable appearances, from picnic blankets  and kitchen curtains to the runway and couture shoes.... Here it is- the legendary GINGHAM CLASSIC!

So I had this family gathering last Friday and as always I hadn’t decided what to wear yet. I was scrolling down my Instagram and Pinterest looking for some cute yet elegant outfit inspiration, then I came across this outfit.

After I saw this, it immediately reminded me of my apron that we had to wear during our lunch time when i was in grade 1 in Shuvatara. Lol. But I really found it so adorable. Then i saw the back side of this dress which had these cuts:

Then I knew, this is the one I am gonna wear!

I came to know that this print is called GINGHAM. It is pronounced as "ging-uhm". It basically comes from a Malayan word genggang or “striped”. Enough of the word knowledge.

Dress like this is a very staple piece for spring and summer because it is light, flirty and very comfortable to wear (because it is flowy). The puff on the sleeves makes it look even more prettier. One can actually rock a gingham without looking like you wrapped a table cloth if u find the correct fit that complements your style....all you need to do is EXPERIMENT.

SASS AND SOPHISTICATION

Hey guys, welcome to my first blog. First of all HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!! I hope you all had an amazing eve. To be honest i was waiting for the eve so that i can go out for a fancy dinner with my friends lol.

So we decided to go to Embers to spend the evening. Writing about my outfit of the night, i wore a deep neck-lined blazer dress from T'S Armoire. I folded the sleeves so that it looked a bit stylish. Blazer dresses are so trendy nowadays, which gives you that sophisticated look. I didn't have any thing like this in my wardrobe so i experimented a bit. I wore a thin brown belt from DS collections to cinch down the waist. I paired it with pencil heels that i bought from Dressmandu. I carried a black envelope purse with gold borders which is from India. For accessories I kept it minimal by wearing some hoop earrings that i bought from a cosmetic store in mangalbazar for legit Rs 80.
